New ‘In Case You’re Curious’ Book From Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains Answers Young People’s Questions about Sex

Denver, CO — Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains is thrilled to announce the recent release of In Case You’re Curious: Questions About Sex from Young People with Answers from the Experts, a light-hearted and approachable book that answers common questions from teens about sexual health, anatomy, relationships, and more. The book answers questions like “Does masturbating give you a disease?” and “Is the pineapple thing true?” — accompanied by funny and educational illustrations.

The book is an initiative of the Responsible Sex Education Institute at Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, which teaches and supports sex education that is inclusive, medically accurate, and culturally relevant. The institute collaborates with a variety of community partners in the region, including schools and youth-serving organizations.

Topics and questions in the book come from Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains’ In Case You’re Curious (ICYC) textline, a text-and-answer program that provides young people anywhere with age-appropriate, medically accurate, and nonjudgmental answers to their questions from Planned Parenthood sexual health experts, all within 24 hours. The new book draws on the most popular and interesting questions young people have had about birth control, puberty, sexually transmitted infections, and more from the textline’s near-decade of existence.

In addition to answering young people’s questions, the book also serves as a reliable resource and perfect conversation-starter for parents and caregivers, giving them an opportunity to have open, honest conversations with their teens about relationships and sex.
