Governor Baker: ALLOW SMALL BUSINESSES TO OPEN NOW

It's been 11 days since the announcement of the Governor’s four-phased reopening plan and there are still businesses that have not been allowed to open in any capacity. While chain retailers and big box stores have been allowed to operate throughout the shutdown, most Main Street small businesses remain closed. Many will never reopen.

The Governor’s plan, developed by an advisory group with virtually no small business representation, picked winners and losers. Any extension of the phased reopening plan could be devastating, forcing most small businesses to close their doors for good.

It’s no secret that MassFiscal has been leading the effort urging the Governor to let our small businesses safely reopen NOW, before it’s too late.

Our push isn’t over and we need your help now more than ever. Will you make a donation today? You’ve seen us on TV, heard us on the radio, read about us online, in the newspapers, and have received numerous communications from us about our aggressive advocacy efforts. Doing this takes resources.

Every Massachusetts politician involved in this process has a guaranteed taxpayer funded salary, automatic pay raises, a downtown Boston parking spot, a gold healthcare plan for life, and a state-backed pension. Their lack of urgency to reopen shouldn’t come as a surprise. Over one million workers have filed for unemployment since this began, and many won’t have a job to return to, but State House leaders continue to ignore the pain caused by their policies.

Now you can see why your support is so vital.  We can’t let our favorite Main Street businesses be the next victim to fall from this lopsided re-opening plan. MassFiscal must keep the pressure on and with your help today, we will.

Please make your most generous donation today so that we can continue our efforts toward a safe and FULL reopening of the Massachusetts economy. Every employee is essential. Every business is essential. Every day that goes by matters.

Visit us at www.MassFiscal.org/Donate to make an immediate donation. Please do what you can. Every dollar counts.

Our favorite small businesses always step up to help our communities, now we need YOU to step up for them. We can’t let the Governor’s reopening plan delay them another day.
