BOSTON – Today Mass Cultural Council announces the appointment of Mark Snyder, a resident of Plymouth, as a member of the Agency’s governing body.
Snyder was appointed to the Council by former Governor Charlie Baker on January 5, and subsequently sworn in by the Healey/Driscoll Administration. As Founder & CEO of Professional Marketing & Promotions Company (PMPCO) and CEO of PMPNetwork.com, Snyder has had a decades-long media career in radio, film production, public relations, promotion, and marketing. He is also a published author and poet.
“Welcome Mark!” said Nina Fialkow, Mass Cultural Council Chair. “Your body of work and experience with so many creative industries will benefit the Council as we continue to support the cultural sector in every community of Massachusetts.”
The Mass Cultural Council is an independent state agency charged with fostering the Commonwealth’s vibrant cultural sector through a wide portfolio of grants and services, thereby elevating a rich cultural life for all residents and visitors to Massachusetts. The Agency is governed by a 19-member Board of private citizens, collectively referred to as “the Council.”
As directed by state law, Council members are appointed by the Governor and have demonstrated scholarship or creativity in, or distinguished service to, the arts, humanities, interpretative sciences, or local arts. Council members serve staggered, three-year terms and reside in every region of the Commonwealth.
“Mass Cultural Council is currently charged with investing almost $100 million in public resources into the Commonwealth’s creative and cultural sector, while simultaneously developing a new strategic plan that will chart our path forward,” said Michael J. Bobbitt, Executive Director, Mass Cultural Council. “I’m thrilled to welcome Mark to the team and look forward to collaborating with him to bolster our sector.”
“I look forward to helping serve the arts community in Massachusetts,” said Snyder. “As a founding member of the Sandwich Arts Alliance, I love the arts in all forms. Creative arts, including the written and spoken word, have been the basis of my entire career.” |
